Rize-Artvin Airport (RZV) is a sea-fill airport in the Pazar district (Yeşilköy) of Rize, about 35 km east of Rize city centre. There are two main ways to reach the city and the surrounding districts from the airport: the Havaş shuttle bus and taxi. This guide compares each with current fares and practical tips, and also covers parking and onward connections to the highlands and Batumi.

Prices are valid as of June 2026. Confirm Havaş fares and times at havas.net or call 0850 222 0 487.

Option 1: Havaş Shuttle Bus

Havaş runs direct shuttles from the airport to Rize centre and to many districts. It is the airport's main public transport option.

  • Rize centre: 220 TRY (adult), 110 TRY (child), ~45 minutes
  • Çayeli: 190 TRY, ~20 minutes
  • Ardeşen: 190 TRY, ~20 minutes
  • Hopa: 300 TRY, ~1 hour
  • Artvin: 550 TRY, ~2 hours 15 minutes

Shuttles leave from outside the terminal, timed to flight arrivals; there is no fixed timetable from the airport. Tickets are bought at the Havaş desk or on board (cash/card); no reservation is needed. In Rize the bus arrives at the stop opposite the municipality.

For current times and all stops see the Rize-Artvin Airport shuttle page.

Option 2: Taxi

Official taxis wait 24/7 outside the terminal and run on the meter.

  • Opening fare: 135 TRY
  • Boarding (indi-bindi): 180 TRY
  • Per km: 45 TRY

Hopa~57 km~2,700 TRY

For those arriving by car or renting a vehicle, the airport has a car park.

Taxi~1,700 TRY~40 minYes

For solo or budget travellers the Havaş shuttle is the most economical option. For families, travellers with luggage or late arrivals, a taxi is more practical.

Which Option to Choose?

Travelling by day, solo and with light luggage, the Havaş shuttle is both economical and comfortable, reaching Rize centre in a single vehicle. With family, lots of luggage or a late-night arrival, a taxi makes more sense, because Havaş departures depend on flight arrivals and you may not find a shuttle after the last flight. For nearby districts such as Çayeli and Ardeşen, the Havaş fare is clearly cheaper than a taxi; for distant points like Hopa and Artvin, sharing a taxi as a group can balance the per-person cost.

Practical tips: buy your ticket on board with cash or card, no reservation needed. In the busy summer season demand for both shuttles and taxis rises; if baggage reclaim runs long, keep an eye on the stop outside the terminal early so you do not miss the shuttle. If you are heading to the highlands or the border, read the connection guides below before you travel.

Highlands, Border and Other Connections
