Mardin Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Airport (MQM) is the gateway to Mardin, the terraced stone city looking out over the Mesopotamian plain, and to the wider Tur Abdin region including Midyat and the Dara ancient city. The airport is 13 km from the city centre and 5 km from Kızıltepe. Three options serve the terminal, more than most regional airports: the Havaş coach, a Mardin Metropolitan Municipality bus and taxis. Havaş runs to Yeni Mardin (the modern centre) for 180 TRY and to Eski Mardin (the historic old town) for 200 TRY, both in about 30 minutes, timed to arriving flights. For Midyat, Dara or the Deyrulzafaran Monastery you will need a taxi or hire car. The open car park follows the 2026 DHMİ Group B tariff at 180 TRY per day, with the first 15 minutes free.
