Denizli Çardak Airport (DNZ) is the gateway to Pamukkale — the UNESCO-listed white travertine terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis — and to Denizli, a textile hub in Turkey's inner Aegean. Unusually, the airport is about 65 km east of Denizli, roughly an hour by road, so getting into town is a real decision. The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality runs the airport shuttle: a Standard bus service via Otogar and Çınar (the city centre) for 225 TRY per person, and a door-to-door Comfort minibus at 450 TRY in the city or 560 TRY straight to the Pamukkale-Karahayıt area. Services are timed to flights with a stable daily backbone; reserve on +90 850 808 20 20. A taxi is possible but expensive over 65 km (around 2,650 TRY to the centre). The open car park is on the 2026 DHMİ Group B tariff at 180 TRY per day, with the first 15 minutes free.
Denizli Çardak Airport Transport Guide
Denizli Çardak Airport is about 65 km from central Denizli — one of the most distant airports from its city in Turkey. That distance makes getting into town a real decision: the cheapest and most common way is the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality airport shuttle, while a taxi is possible but expensive. If you are heading to Pamukkale, there is also a direct transfer. Below is the cost, duration and best use of each option.
Municipal Airport Shuttle
The cheapest way into the centre is the municipal shuttle. The Standard Shuttle uses 54/27/18-seat buses on the Otogar → Çınar → Airport route, stopping at Çınar (city centre) and Otogar, for 225 TRY per person. Services are timed to departing flights, with a stable daily backbone around 06:10, 10:40, 16:10 and 18:40 from Çınar. The Comfort Shuttle is a door-to-door 8+1 minibus: 450 TRY in the city, 560 TRY to Pamukkale-Karahayıt. Reservation recommended: +90 850 808 20 20. For the current two-week timetable see the Denizli shuttle page.
Getting to Pamukkale
The Pamukkale travertines and Hierapolis are the real destination for most visitors. The easiest option is the Comfort Shuttle door-to-door to the Pamukkale-Karahayıt area (560 TRY). Alternatively take the Standard Shuttle to central Denizli (Çınar/Otogar) and change to a local Pamukkale minibus, or take a taxi (about 2,850 TRY).
Taxi
Taxis wait outside the terminal. The 2026 Denizli meter is a 50 TRY opening fee, 40 TRY per km and a 150 TRY minimum. Because the distance is long, fares are high:
| Destination | Distance | Estimated fare |
|---|---|---|
| Denizli city centre | 65 km | 2,650 TRY |
| Pamukkale | 70 km | 2,850 TRY |
| Bus terminal (Otogar) | 65 km | 2,650 TRY |
Over this distance most drivers agree a flat fare rather than the meter; confirm before setting off. For one or two people the 225 TRY municipal shuttle is far cheaper.
Parking
The airport open car park (DHMİ) is on the 2026 Group B tariff: 180 TRY per day for a car, 90 TRY for a motorcycle, with the first 15 minutes free. As the airport is far out, the shuttle is usually cheaper than parking for multi-day trips. See the Denizli parking page for details.
